In a time of heavy headlines, director Md Fahad brings a humorous twist to family dynamics with ‘Jamai Shoshur Juari’. The offbeat comedy, written by Rajib Moni Das, explores an unusual bond between a son-in-law and father-in-law who gamble together in secret.
Actors Tariq Swapan, Sara Zerin, Kazi Razu, Sayka Ahmed, Farid Hossain, and Riki bring the quirky tale to life.
Director Md. Fahad says, “People are tired of constantly hearing negative news. This is just a humble attempt to offer them a moment of laughter. That’s why I chose to create a lighthearted comedy like this.”
Playwright Rajib Moni Das adds, “Today’s audience wants more entertainment in less time. We write stories like this satirical one, considering both the time constraints and the director’s narrative preferences.”
The story unfolds as the father-in-law visits his son-in-law daily, gambling away the hours without his daughter’s knowledge. When the mother-in-law catches on, tensions erupt, leading to a battle of wits between the women and the two carefree gamblers.
