Dr. Thrina Islam’s ‘Shobdohin Jontrona’ Coming in October

The family, social and psychological webfilm Shobdohin Jontrona, produced under the banner of ZaaenaEZ Production, is planned for release in mid October 2026.

The webfilm is directed by Md. Akter Hossain, with the story and screenplay by Dr. Thrina Islam. Dr. Thrina Islam is a physician and researcher. She is also a popular news presenter and programme producer.

Shobdohin Jontrona is more than a family story; it is a socially significant webfilm. It explores how an incident shaped by adolescent emotions, limited understanding and immaturity can have lasting consequences for a young person’s physical and psychological health, family life and future.

The webfilm particularly highlights adolescent health, the physical and psychological risks of adolescent pregnancy, timely medical care and counselling, parental responsibility, and the importance of age-appropriate sexuality and reproductive health education. The story portrays Maya’s pregnancy alongside various health concerns, emphasizing the importance of protecting an adolescent’s physical, mental and social well-being.

The cast features Amaan Reza as Aryan, Thrina Islam as Maya, Tahsan Bin Rafique As Adult Sayan, Mouri Mahadi as Rima, Rebeca as Nadia, Farzana Chobi as the doctor, Barda Mithu as Rashed, Azom Khan as Shafiq Ahmed, Shashi Afroza as Shirin, and Lalshi.

The younger cast includes Sifat as teenage Aryan, Ava as teenage Maya, Anas as Sayan (8 years), Azuat as Sayan (5 years), Azmin as Sayan (3 years), and Arusha as young Maya.Director: Md. Akter Hossain

At its heart, Shobdohin Jontrona carries an important message: adolescents need guidance rather than judgment, protection rather than fear, open communication rather than silence, and appropriate education before preventable consequences occur.

The webfilm also emphasizes the responsibility of parents to listen to their children, recognize behavioural and physical changes, provide emotional security, and seek medical or professional support when necessary.

The webfilm makers hope that Shobdohin Jontrona will not only connect with audiences emotionally but also encourage meaningful conversations about adolescent health, parent-child communication, sexuality and reproductive health education, compassionate healthcare, and shared social responsibility.

Shobdohin Jontrona–a story from behind the silence, speaking for awareness, responsibility and empathy.
