Playwright Rajib Moni Das’s birthday today 

Today, 20 June, marks the birthday of renowned fiction writer, playwright, and lyricist Rajib Moni Das. He currently serves as the Organizing Secretary of the Playwrights’ Association.

Rajib has written over 250 single-episode dramas and more than 11 drama serials. In addition to his prolific work as a playwright, he also writes lyrics, short stories, poems, and novels. His articles on contemporary issues are regularly published in various newspapers and magazines.

He is also a member of the Directors’ Guild, occasionally directing notable dramas. Numerous television commercials have been produced under his concept and direction. Deeply committed to social causes, Rajib is an active advocate for children with autism. He often writes on the subject and plans to create more awareness-driven fiction in the future.

As a literary figure, Rajib Moni Das has published several remarkable collections of short stories, novels, and poetry. Despite his busy schedule, he continues to dedicate significant time to literary pursuits. His journey in writing began as a childhood hobby and has grown into a multifaceted career across literature and culture.

Some of his notable novels include ’Tahar Jonno Ar Kono Chinta Nai’, the science-based children’s novel ’Mr. Brain’, ‘Ekposhla Brishti’, and ‘Baba’, a story centered on the lives of street children.

Many of his songs have been composed, arranged, and performed by leading Bangladeshi artists. Currently, he remains deeply engaged in drama writing. During the recent Eid-ul-Azha, seven of his single-episode dramas and a 7-episode special serial aired on various television channels.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to drama and culture, Rajib Moni Das has received numerous prestigious honors, including the BABISAS Award, TRAB Award, Bioscope Star Award, CJFB Award, Sher-e-Bangla Golden Award, BCRC Excellence Award, Shah Abdul Karim (SAK) Award, and the Mother Teresa Memorial Honor.

He has also served as a judge on the reality show Mr. and Miss Grammar Looks and was the Chief Judge of the BaBhashi International Film Festival (2022–2023).
